HOME BIO FREE READS NEWS LINKS BLOG CONTACT ME News News: July 18/2010 So far no one at Samhain has taken a liking to any of my historicals, but I recently sent out a M/M novella that Jennifer Miller seems to have taken enough of a liking to to request revisions. I did them and sent out the story again and am still waiting to hear back from her. News: Jan 12/2010 After going to the Ottawa Romance Writers' Association meetings and meeting Samhain executive editor Laurie Rauch, then being educated on how epublishing works, I decided to send her a submission. Lady Thief was sent out and then rejected 25 days later, which is actually pretty fast since they advertise a turn around time of 12 to 16 weeks, but I won't give up. Today I send out Lady Deception, and am hoping that Mrs Rauch will like it better than Lady Thief :D News: Dec 11/09 After much more trouble with updating this website, I finally stood behind my brother and watched what he was doing, then took notes so I could get updates written faster, and without having to nag Mitch for help with them. However, since getting a blog I've been putting up news updates there frequently throughout this computer problem I've been having. If you don't read my blog, since not updating this website, I've posted on my blog that I've joined ORWA, submitted my historical Lady Thief to the Golden Heart Contest, received a rejection from Nocturne Bites, and met Samhain Editor Laurie Rauch. Good Times :) News: June 24/09 I haven't been ignoring the website, I've just been having a hard time updating it because of issues with my password. Sorry about that. I joined RWA finally, and tried to get into the Ottawa group but they haven't returned my e-mail. I'll try again with that one later today. News: May 29/09 I started a blog yesterday. All the little updates I make, rejections I get, so on, will be posted there. I'll reserve this news section for when I actually manage to get published :) News: Apr 21/09 This is a little late, but I won a Why I Write contest with Wordhustler. Wordhustler prints and sends your query letter, partial, or full manuscript out so that you don't have to do that kind of work. And though, since my main target is harlequin, I'm waiting to hear back from the publisher I sent out to before I use Worhustler, I'm still stoked that they're giving me a free send out whenever I'm ready to use it. :) News: Mar 17/09 I got my rejection from the Amazon Breakthrough Novel Contest today, the rejection from Cerridwen press came about a week ago or so, so I'm a little sad about those. Just waiting to hear back from Harlequin for Lady Thief and the short story I wrote. News: Mar 7/09 I got a rejection today from Cerridwen press for the Lady Thief Submission. Oh well, Harlequin is still looking at it, and hopefully I'll get some good news from the Amazon Breakthrough novel contest. News: Mar 3/09 I've deleted the livejournal account I was trying to set up since it turns out I suck at doing anything on livejournal, so instead I bought a domain name and hosting to put up this website instead. My brother is helping me with this, and since I put money into buying the hosting then there's no way I'm going to stick it on the back burner since I'm way too cheap to let cashola go to waste. Luckily for me my brother is great with computers. He was tinkering around just with my name in different fonts with shading in the background, and I'm easily impressed by stuff like that, so I'm really excited to get it up and running. As I am still an unpublished author, it's not like there will be pics of my books up on it, but I'll still post stories and news on where I'm sending out query letters and such. No news yet on Harlequin or the Amazon Breakthrough Novel contest. I also submitted to Cerridwen press, but nothing on them yet either. I've just finished a new short story. It's a paranormal stand alone about 14,000 words long. I'm not going to post it because I'm going to edit it and send it to Nocturne Bites, and if they say no I'll shop it around and hope someone likes it enough to buy it. Wish me luck :) News: Feb 6/09 Just a quick announcement. On February 3rd I sent out my three sample chapters, query letter, and synopsis of Lady Thief to Harlequin Historical, and today I put up the same novel in the Amazon Breakthrough Novel Contest. I'll update this profile as I get news on those :) |
